What you get

Face recognition is optional, not a condition of work. Every worker has a camera-free option.

Face or PIN clock-in

Werktyd turns a phone, tablet or PC the business already owns into a clock-in point. A worker looks at the camera, completes a quick liveness check and clocks in. If they prefer, they use their PIN instead. It is built for South African employers who need a defensible record of who was on site.

No special hardware

Werktyd runs in a browser. There is no fingerprint reader, no cards and no tags to buy, and nothing for workers to install. Many teams start with an older Android device mounted at the gate.

Offline events queue on the device when the connection drops.

Face recognition is optional

A worker can choose not to use the camera without losing access to clock-in. The PIN option is part of the normal product, not a reduced version of it.

The purpose, location and retention of the data are explained to the worker before enrolment, and consent is recorded.

What is actually stored

Enrolment produces a numeric face template. The enrolment capture is discarded after processing and the photograph is not stored.

A face clock-in that cannot be verified automatically is different: the photograph taken at that moment is kept as proof and shown to the worker’s manager to accept or reject, then deleted on that decision or automatically after the review window. This is set out in full in the workplace privacy notice.

The numeric template is purged after the configured dispute buffer when a worker leaves. Required time records remain for the period the law requires.

More than one place to clock in

You can run multiple kiosks, clock in through Telegram, and tie a clock-in to a place with GPS work zones. Patrol checkpoints are available for guard routes.
